Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated FTTH Field Technician to join our growing telecommunications team. The FTTH Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic connections from the network to the customer premises. This role requires hands-on technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and activate FTTH connections at residential and business locations.

• Perform splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables using OTDR and other tools.

• Troubleshoot fiber network issues and restore services in a timely manner.

• Read and interpret network diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation.

• Maintain accurate records of daily work, completed jobs, and materials used.

• Conduct site surveys and determine optimal cable routing.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local regulations.

• Interact professionally with customers to explain services and resolve any service issues.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Proven experience in FTTH or fiber optic installation and maintenance.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in using OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and other fiber tools.

• Familiarity with fiber optics standards (e.g., ITU-T, IEEE, GPON).

• Knowledge of outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) installation techniques.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in varying outdoor conditions.

• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

• Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as FOA CFOT, ETA Fiber Optic Installer, or equivalent.

• Experience with GPON, Active Ethernet, or related FTTH technologies.
